RH Foster Donates Nearly $15,000 to Cancer Care for Kids

Check presentation made following The Giving Pump fundraiser at Freshies®

BANGOR, ME – R.H. Foster Energy today presented a check to the Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Center at Northern Light Pediatric Care for nearly $15,000. The donation comes from a fundraiser conducted at each Freshies® location. Throughout the months of August and September, one pump at each location was wrapped with a purple image, and was known as “The Giving Pump.” A portion from every gallon of gas sold at these pumps was collected for the donation. The check presented on Wednesday totaled $14,802.39.

"We were very excited about the opportunity to participate in Shell’s Giving Pump Program this year,” said Katie Foster, executive manager at R.H. Foster. “We selected the Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Center at Northern Light Pediatric Cancer Care and worked with our dealers and R. H. Foster-operated sites to have the colorful purple signage put on the pumps. It is an honor to be able to support such a worthy cause in this capacity and we are very fortunate to have this important treatment center in our region.”

In addition to 17 R.H. Foster Freshies® locations from Caribou to Somesville, supporting dealers participating in the fundraiser included Leadbetters Super Stops in the Greater Bangor Area, Bob’s Neighborhood Store in Madawaska and Elmer’s Country Store in Columbia Falls.

“Thank you to our friends at RH Foster, kids in our area receiving treatment at Northern Light Pediatric Cancer Care will have toys, games, and crafts they can use while they are here and bring home with them. Going through treatment can be incredibly challenging for these kids and this gift ensures that they can still have fun and be children while receiving treatment. We are so grateful for your support.” says Nadine SantaCruz, MD, pediatric oncologist, Northern Light Pediatric Cancer Care.
