Our Roots
A small family company that prides itself in being part of the communities they serve. Robert H. Foster started Foster Fuels as a Gulf Oil Dealership with one 1500-gallon oil delivery truck. Sales volume for the first year was 200,000 gallons of home heating oil. Today the company has over 400 employees and does business all over Maine. R.H. Foster Energy, L.L.C. has six energy service locations- Machias, Carver, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Penobscot, and Hampden. In addition, the company owns 17 Shell brand fuels with stores offering Freshies food. The company also operates a wholesale transportation unit, supplying approximately 75-80 dealers with gasoline, distillate products, and propane.
